Title: Under engine floor?
Post by: Justin14100 on April 07, 2009, 09:08:58 pm
After a brows on EKTA, i noticed that there was an under engine floor on there...

What models had this and what was the advantage to it?

Just wondering really, saw one on ebay too at some point!

Thanks!

it was fitted to the diesil polos on the continent.

its made of plastic and basically loops through the front radiator support panel then bolts on just after the TCAs.

its main purpose is sound deadning as its covered internally with foam/sponge stuff. i have a few pics of it on and off the car somewhere.

i wouldnt buy one new at 169 or whatever its now at. it would stop grass and loose stones but anything more major ( large speed bump would bend and crack it over time)

i bought the metal sump guard, its a bit better and felt more robust and acts as a chassis brace. but its by no means perfect either.
