How do you guys seal yours? Double gasket? Just sealant? Gaskets and sealant?

It's a long time since I fitted mine but I'm pretty sure I just used some sillicon sealer between the block face and the tray and then a single gasket as normal between the tray and the sump.

Did you also fit the tray before the oil pump?
Haynes suggests sealant on both the sump and crankcase surfaces, with a tray that'd be all 4 surfaces? Overkill?
This is maybe me just being paranoid as it's my first engine build, and i've complicated it by using a Lupo crank sensor, this means i now have a rubber gasket sealing the flywheel end. This makes me think double gasketing is the way to go.

I've rebuilt my engine again since then, I'm fairly sure I only used one this time.  Also seem to recall that you can get it on by loosening the oil pump pickup with out fully removing it.  I'ts probably four years ago when I last did this so I could be remembering wrongly.

That's great, thanks. I suspected that would be the case, just a bit annoying as it's a new pump and the pickup bolts are loctited in. Any issues with the support bracket, it looks like it'll contact the tray?

yes I seem to recall having to "adjust" the tray slightly on first fitting.

Hahahaha yes adjust. Heard back from maxrpm today, said some cutting would be needed. Probably not the best design then.
