Title: Swapping Alternator

The alternator on my G is only kicking out 11 volts, got a Valeo replacement but unsure as the best route to go about replacing it

I've followed some of the charger removal guide down to removing the elbow off the right hand side of the charger but then the 19mm bolt on the pulley I can't get undone (can get socket but not ratchet on it and no give with a spanner)

Would it be easier to swap out the voltage regulator from the new to the old or is there another way to go about this?
