Title: Wiring to battary

Really random question how many wires go to the live terminal on the battary?ive not touched the electrics for along time and electrics aren't my strong point and I'm having trouble getting my car running.i have a thick brown wire which I presumed was negative and I'm now want somebody to confirm what this is.ive followed the wire back and it goes to the plug next to the coil pack.if someone can tell me what this wire is that would be much appreciated

With all the looms in there should be 3 wires on the battery positive. The thick one to the starter with 2 smaller ones that send power throughout the car.
