Evening guy and girls, i have had a quick look around here, but was wandering does anyone know how many G40's came in the different colours. As there must be alot more red ones compared to capri green.
-
List them and we'll find out?
Red
Winsor Blue
White
Black
Capri Green
montana green ?
Genesis Purple
Grey
any more or any more name corrections/ additions ?
-
Think Helios blue was available on them. There's a dark blue, a purpley blue and a light blue (although unsure about the light blue being a G40 option).
-
Metallic Royal Blue - LA5U
I thought there were two reds, but might be wrong.. maybe G40's only came in Tornado Red :-\
Tornado Red - LY3D
Flash Red - LP3G
Suppose at the time red will off been seen as more 'sporty'.. and I believe metallic paints such as capri green will of cost quite a bit more which explains the contrast in quantity of colors around.

I reckon the least often seen colour for UK G40's is probably Maritime blue...it's a dark solid colour,i've seen on just one late G40.
Other markets had some colours we never had.
Brilliant Black metallic.
Calypso metallic. (Greeny-silver)
Silver metallic.
Don't forget however that you could special order any colour...might be some really unusual colours out there somewhere.
-
The G40 was an expensive car as it is. So I doubt there will be many that did want to make it even more expensive with a special colour.
-
Expensive in the UK,yes. But I suspect, not quite so much in the rest of europe. I imagine this is why european models are often higher specced, heated seats, headlight washers, tinted glass, leather steering wheels are often seen on the continent, but rare here.

There was a genuine silver metallic one G40 on the German ebay for quite some time priced at around 5000 euro I think.
Like rml2711 said I bet there's some special ones out there hidden!
