Post by: polo classic on December 22, 2015, 01:32:36 pm
Anyone know where I can buy number 20, 25, 26, 27?

VW Classic Parts do one of the rubber bushes (I forget which one!), so I ordered 4 of them.

They do number 25, the larger one on top of the springs.

I have now ordered some universal ones from Superflex

Hi, I still have wooly handling and I've replaced every bush on the car along with new suspension all round. The only thing I haven't replaced is the one track rod ( the one with the reversed thread that fits engine side of the adjustment bar) and number 15 on the drawing above. Would anyone be able to tell me where I can source these items from as my local car suppliers can't.  Cheers

Number 15 will cause the rear axle to swing left to right. I had those gone bad on mine and mid corner the rear would snap and relocate itself. It didn't have a wobly feeling though.

It just doesn't feel very determined when you move the steering left and right when driving in a straight line. It just doesn't feel tight enough somehow. Is there any advice that I could get to try to make it feel better. I haven't messed with the steering, would this help do you think and if so what can I do? Cheers

Are you running a subframe? Also polyurethane bushings will make a lot of difference.

Have you had your geometry measured after lowering and fitting your new suspension?
You'd be surprised at how much of an impact it can have.

I'd be changing my rear axle bushes (no15) then getting my angles checked. You can correct rear camber and toe, to a degree, using eibach EZ shims (known as camber shims). Good luck.

Did you find #20 at all Frode?

Anyone got one in their pile of spares?

Seems that Classic Parts had #20 for a short while, but now sold out.
