Title: wheel to dash distance

Hi gang,

Putting a mk3 dash & column in a Mk1. With a standard G40 steering wheel, what's the distance from the back of that to the nearest part of the dash? - I.E the shortest distance.

Anyone got a tape measure handy....?

My mk1 Arosa uses the same dash so I can measure it tomorrow if you are interested. But the dash is at least twice the length at the top compared to a standar G40.

Thanks for the offer, much appreciated, but I'm keen to set it up exactly as a standard mk3. I've got to weld a plate on the column which sets the distance. I could guess it, but why bother when (hopefully) I can get the measurement straight off a car.
