Title: Garrret GT 2056 turbo
Post by: holden ss on December 19, 2014, 08:34:53 pm
Good evening everyone

I was wondering if any one has tried a GT 2056 on the G40,i had a look at the compressor map from the Garrett site and did the calculations for the 1.3l engine, and looked great all round the rpm.
At 2200rpm 10psi
At 3600rpm 20psi
At 7200rpm its 76% efficiency
In my opinion even though this turbo has a 0.46 A/R turbine (quiet small)it doesnt choke up at high rpms.
I would like anyones thoughts on this.

Thanks

How much power are you aiming for?

Im aiming for 200cv max.My concern is the back pressure that the small exhaust housing may create, but the feedback that im getting from the map compressor is at 7200rpm at 1.4bar its 76% efficiency.
If it had any back pressure problem the turbo would not be so efficient correct?

Yes.
Everything depends from the engine setup mainly...
If you suppose that you have a 1272cc engine with lots of headwork and supported mods, you will achieve that numbers.

Why dont you go for a k03? There is tons of information and lots of ideas to share

If i go with the K03 i will need to change manifold, and i think its to small.
