Hi,

Just a quick introduction...I"m new to the forum and the G40.But already finding out what a great Forum this is,after reading through several helpful/informative threads.

I have recently purchased a Mk1 Golf with a G40 motor,can't resist the sound after having 2 G60's previously i'm back to owning another G-lader  ;D

Cheers Andy

Was that the one for sale on edition? If so it was a good price if it's as good as it looks.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes it was indeed. The overall condition is pretty good, just need to spend some time on the car to get it back upto scratch. As its been in storage for nearly 5 yrs.

It'll be a nice little project for me,gave it some fresh oil and a filter straight away and checked all the levels, brakes etc.I plan on doing a few more mod's to the motor...Probably over winter when it will be off the road.

Very smart, I have a G engine conversion and would love to find a solid mk1 for a decent price. Welcome to the forum

Thanks Guys,

Bit of a project for me when i have spare time.

At the minute I'm working my way through the basics, once i've done that i'd like to take it somewhere reputable that has a rolling road to make sure all is well...Can anyone recommend somewhere in the Midlands-ish??

Thanks Andy

There is a rolling road day that is organised every year at Aldon automotive. Thats a good day, sometimes a bit cold tough. Think thats about feb/march time.

Sounds interesting...I'll be up for that if it's not at the other end of the country.
