Hi guys...Another question that many people does here in Portugal... G40 or G60 supercharger on a G40 engine...Some people say that G60 it's not so good to do high rpm like 7000 or 7500 and that it's more Fragile ( i thinks it's that the word in english :D ) than G40...So like you know, you had more experience and know more than us ;D...Opinions needed :D
Many Greetings

Fragile is the word in english mate and you spelt it correct.
But then i`ve seen spelling on here far worse than mine. lol.
I have read stuff about G60 chargers on this subject before
but can`t remember where. But i know people buggered them
up by making them fragile.

yes G60 chargers are more fragile. People have used them on G40s here in the UK before to good effect, they can produce 1.6bar boost (about 23psi) on a g40 engine which gives a lot of power. But they are more prone to failing than a g40 charger. They don't really like the fast-revving nature of the g40 engine in comparison to the lazier tall-block g60 engine. I hope that makes sense?
The lad who was running 1.6 bar (who is on here sometimes) went through a fair few g60 chargers in his time.
To be honest, if you are wanting a lot of boost I'd put a turbo on it (and in fact I am doing with mine!).

hayesey i think with a turbo you have more power with a little less of work but i think to if a put a G60 with a full blend for example on a G40 engine i have power and accelaration to won a G40 turbo...i talk for what i had seen on G40's with turbo

Well it depends what size turbo you fit. Over 200bhp has been achieved with a K03 from a passat on a polo. But then you could put a k04 on and get more (maximum) power than that. Or there are several garret turbos that are suitable and you can select one that will make more boost than a k03. I dunno it's up to you but I do know of g60 conversions on g40s in this country where they were blowing g60 chargers up all the time, gets very expensive!
