Title: 1341cc Headgasket
Post by: Robin on December 23, 2008, 10:17:02 pm
Chaps

I am guessing i need to use the Mk4 1.4 8v headgasket for the G, the question is has anyone knows if there is much difference between the ones from GSF/ECP and the VW ones apart from the price difference?

I'm using the mk4 HG on mine, just got it from G&S.  I don't think you have to use that one on a 1341, as far as I'm aware you can use the normal g40 one too.

The thinner ones raise compression, not ideal on a 9:1 as it is! I've been using genuine VW for mine, Only £20 made by vitor reinz.

I'm using a metal headgasket on my 1341 engine. No problems with high compression ratio and I am pulling a bit of power however cam overlap helps keep boost down to 13PSI.
I guess it may depend on your remap.
