Cool car dude, I have just been putting my mk2 back together
cant believe how much less space a mk2 has over a 2f

what rad setup are you using and what intercooler are you using
if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks for the comments  :) The OEM horn was a bit weedy, so I got the air horn to beef it up a bit  ;D

The intercooler was a find in a mates garage - he thinks it came from a Nissan 200SX or 300ZX.

The engine spec (from memory) is:

PSD full blend charger
PSD toothed belts
Big intercooler
De-wedged throttle body
Boost return removed
GT inlet manifold
G60 injectors
Big valve head
Piper cam
1341cc with forged pistons
PPP cat-back exhaust
PSD chip
Mocal oil cooler
PSD oil catch tank

To come:
Shorter intercooler (so I can remove the front splitter)
Custom re-map

I think that's it  ;D

Sorry, I forgot about your rad question. The rad has smooth end tanks - I'm led to believe this is a standard 1.3 one which seems to do the job fine. It used to run a little hot at standstill and the temperature would slowly climb as the old fan wasn't up to the job. I've fitted a bigger, high flow one which has sorted that out  :)

Really wicked motor, thats handy I had to do a lot of intercooler trial and error
however I went for a universal one but a very small one squesed between the grill and the rad
will post some pictures soon in my thread,
Thats quite a good spec to really like this car!

I bet your car is quite quick epecially being a mk2 and therefore lighter. Looks like quite a high G-ladoer spec engine. What Suspenion / Diff you running to get all that power down?

I do wonder what differences there are between the mk2 and 3 on the weight side of things and if a mk3 g40 would really be any heavier than a g40 in the real world...

Suspension wise, I've got Koni damping adjustable springs and shocks, G40 rear axle, nylon ARB bushes anf poly TCA bushes, so nothing too fancy. There's no LSD, but he back tyres are 55 profile and the fronts are 45. It grips well in the dry. There isn't much hope in 1st, but its fine in 2nd if you're pointing in a straight line, otherwise easy to light up the tyres. It will spin up in 3rd in the wet in a straight line though!

What springs are you using out of curiosity? Mine is too low, yours looks about what I'm looking for. Do you know the -mm?

Lovely car mate

It's a full Koni spring & shock kit all around with a 40mm drop. However, I think it's a bit on the hard side; it skips across the road on poor surfaces. I'll be looking at something a bit softer in the future. I hope that helps :)

Interesting, I run the Koni yellow 40mm kit spring and dampers and understood it was one of the softest kits.
I think the only way to get softer is to use original springs? unless someone has further info.

I think the G40 looks great in dark grey like that.

Buy it, he's been splitting it in the for sale ads for a few months ;)
I remember it being jade green or similar, was about 15 years ago when I saw him/it though!
