Title: Vehicle dolly/skates
Post by: physicsfool on January 29, 2014, 01:36:25 pm
Looking for dolly to put the G shell on so i can refurb the rear axle and front struts. ideally so i can move it around the garage and work on it easily.

Any suggestions, budget isnt massive (100), if i could rent one that would work, ideally 2 months

Cheers, Martin

with a budget of 100 it'd be easier to make your own if you can weld and have access to the tools.

Brands like Clarke and Power-tec are expensive, unless you manage to find a second hand one.

Something like these might be good as it's only a small polo, although requires leaving wheels on.

Where are you based dude?

Stick an add up for a welder. If you do all the prep yourself and just need it sticking together then I'm sure you'll be able to find someone local to buzz it up for you.

If you're in the norfolk/Suffolk area and don't mind travelling then I can do it for you.

Cheers for the offer, based in the north close to York, think i may just have to do one wheel at a time and use axle stands. not ideal but economical.

I'd also suggest getting someone to fab them up for you, won't cost much at all from an engineering place if you find an old boy.

can anyone suggest any decent heavy duty castor wheels for em?

As soon as I get some gas again, I think I'm gonna attempt this.

Army surplus supplies are worth a look for castors.
