Title: 2014 club calender
Post by: z3i on December 22, 2013, 06:29:02 pm
There was talk of a g40 calender a while back, any chance we can get one for 2014?
Everyone post one pic of their own g40 and a mod pics the best 12?
I'm sure a few peeps would be interested?

So easiest way to put images on here is either to make sure they are under 1MB and upload using the additional options box. If it rejects the photo it means it's too big. Or open a photo bucket account upload a photo and take the IMG address in the bottom box on the right of the photo and copy it into here and an image will appear!

Also I would be keen for a calendar

Yeah sounds good! 1 photo each, if we say put the photo up on here, and then the winning people are contacted then send an email with the photo as to get best quality, I'm sure photo bucket and uploading on here seriously reduces quality, does anyone know a better way of getting photos sent without reducing quality?
If none if the mods are up for this I may see if I can get some made up, got to be plenty of companies that do it

^^ flickr is most likely best for no loss of quality, or even imgur has better results then photobucket.

This has been suggested before and it looks like a good idea. A good spread of car shots, as well as mods re-build shots etc. would make for an interesting calendar but for 2015.First problem, like so many G  associated ideas is how many prints? Secondly who's going to professionally print what will be a very small number. Genuine G's or conversions ? Strict originals or a bit of artistic interpretation? It would take a lot of doing.

I think 2015 is going to be a better one, we can get them before the year as it's a bit late now

I think anything glader or G40 related, turbo or not, aslong it's interesting and good quality photo's

I had a ring around and most companies aren't interested as it's such a small amount how many should I look at getting printed? Reckon the club polo lot might be interested?

you can do 1 off calendars so should be simple-enough on line.  webmart vistaprint etc

Why not ask alex grant what photos he's got as a he's a journo/photographer.

Could do something like polo3 did, every month people enter their car, gets voted, winner of that month goes in the calendar for the month won.

I think there should be a vote, but not the monthly one! Not enough of us. Just a picture or two from each member then vote for which motors would be best

Yeah a group one would be good. If this club rally gets organised from another post we could make that the december one.

Im sure there would be enough people. There must be at least 100 people with G40's on the forum.

Group photo would be awesome!!
Need to get mine painted fast!! Not having a group photo with my harlequin!!! :(
Whichever would be good! As long as we get epic pics, think there should be some good mid engine rebuild shots too! Or charger rebuilds :)
I reckon jesters red G should get the front page :P

Sorry to hi-jack the thread. An idea I had recently whilst shopping for a tax disc holder for my new G40 was a clubG40 tax disc holder. Maybe incorporating the scroll design like the clothing. Is this something that is viable?

Any profits towards the website.

I like the idea of a calendar though: tasteful one for home, Nudie one for the workshop!

that'll be a bit of a waste of time.  They're getting rid of tax discs later this year!

Calendar is a good idea but in the past we never got enough decent quality photos together for one.  A picture taken with an smartphone is going to look horrific when printed.  Perhaps getting together some old VW press photos etc.. or any decent high res photos taken with an SLR at car shows etc... would be ok.

Ah I was unaware of this. No not much point in doing those then!  :D
