Title: G40 on Ebay
Post by: G40supercharged on April 25, 2013, 09:12:11 PM
There's a low mileage G40 on Ebay in Edinburgh. It sounds very similar to the one that was sold for full asking price by a dealer in Edinburgh after people on this forum said it was overpriced (same mileage, colour, reg). Can't be the same one though as this one has only had one owner, and the other had a least 3.

Why are you still looking at G's Craig ? Time to get a fecked one and bring it up to scratch; that might get them out of your system. Then again....

It's the same seller, unless there's more than one Edinburgh Motor Co. Maybe the guy on here that bought it sold it back to them?

Thanks Jester, interesting reading with some good questions, i.e. I had wondered about the missing G40 badges !!

Any views if current asking price is still too high?

cheers

I don't have enough experience with them to say if it's too high, sure someone on here could guide you.

would of been nice to see some closer shots, possibly underneath and at least an engine bay one.

The ebay listing is a bit misleading - it's clearly not a one owner car which is what I was pointing out in the first post. The previous ad said his dad bought it off his neighbour, then it was sold for £5K to someone (apparently). That makes at least 3 previous owners. It looks like a nice car but I would treat all information with a bit of caution.

Has anyone been for a look at this car ? It's down to £4K now which is getting towards what its worth ...  Looks really nice in the photos! I would really like to have a look but Essex to Scotland is some trip !

Obviously this was the same one that was for sale a couple of years ago for 6 / 5k but didn't sell ?

Seems to be something a bit dodgy maybe ? The garage its at does NOT have a good reputation with bad feedback on ebay and google. And there guy sounds like a bit of a prick but that doesn't mean its not a good car ?

Anyone give us the heads up on this ? Thought my younger days of owning a g40 were behind me but i dunno.. got a little hankering to buy another, if i did end up with another g though it would have to be standard and mint!

Cheers for any info you guys have

buyer and seller were blatantly the same person. Probably of the thinking that if someone thought it had for 5k it would be easier to sell for the same a littler further down the line... or you kerbside mechanics got so far under his skin he was willing to pretend it sold...

either way the fact he would BS like that shows he probably isn't the best person to buy a very expensive G40 off
