Title: Clutch Issue
Post by: Etches on April 25, 2013, 10:02:39 AM
I was using a self adjusting cable, pressed the pedal down and it wouldnt disengage the clutch . I bought a new adjustable cable yesterday and chucked it on today fully tightened and i still can't disengage it e.g engine running pedal fully compressed I can't select a gear as it grinds.

I'm thinking its something to do with the release bearing? Any help would be great as I've got to deal with this today if possible!

have you tried leavering the clutch release fork and seeing if that disengages the clutch if it does then its a probelm related to the cable or pedal box and if it doesnt ou problem lies inside you box!

Pedal box OK, new cable and still no clearance means your taking the box off whether it's release bearing or clutch plate. Be as well ordering up both asap. Always the same when the car's a must have.

is this on a freshly rebuilt engine?  Is the clutch plate in the right way round?
