Title: options for extra power
Post by: spooneyg40 on March 23, 2013, 11:01:20 PM
after a little more power and basically wondering what the options are....car spec is as follows

jabba stage 4 charger with jabba chip (but looking to change to a ppp chip)
standard air box with k@n panel filter ( upgrading to jabba induction with sheild)
boost return mod
standard injectors
longlife full system with decat
standard v belts
65mm pulley

pretty happy with jabba charger so would like to build around that.......
whats the best options for me power?

Id recommend a front mount intercooler to start with, especially if your after more power.
GT manifold
larger throttle body
would give a bit more power on and off boost

Toothed belts (but i know your after some anyway)
you've done all the basic stuff, things start to get expensive after that

you could try a gt inleg a 4 branch and a cam and a custom map

would the green injectors be an option from the setup that im currently running or would that be a waste of time? i like the low down torque that iv been reading i might loose if i put on a gt inlet, also anyone know if the ppp chip is any better than the jabba one that i currently have? i phone jabba the other day and mentioned toothed belt and they just laughed at me and mentioned some thing about reversed torque on the charger? basically they told me it wasn't recommended to fitted toothed belts as it will shag the charger

Dont judge injectors by their colour, look at part numbers. there's a really helpful list on one of the main pages on here. by green injectors i assume you mean the 300cc/min ones? you only need injectors when you max out the 200cc/min ones so if your running serious power or turbo etc. you also need a remap for different injectors or you will be running massively rich. there wont be any power gains from just adding injectors

as for Jabba, a toothed belt will wear the charger a little faster but wont "shag it" the slip you get in v belts does help the charger by not being so aggressive. but why would the likes of "PSD" a highly recognized company have made them if they "shag" the charger

not sure on the chips. if you want it set up correctly speak to yoof and andy. they do a days remapping service. they check your car over and see how you drive then do a one off custom map to suit your mods and driving. which is much better than a generic map. its around £300 but its a whole days worth of labor, which is a bargain really!

Ive never read about gt manifolds giving the car less low down torque. it may change the torque curve slightly but probably not massively noticeable. you would mainly notice the difference off boost
hope this helps
