Did a track day at Oulton in the Polo.

Nope - I thought it had but speaking to the owner it's running induction kit, LSD, very low final drive (130mph max), fully stripped, caged and cut slicks - he said he was at the very limit and couldn't have gone any quicker - he was certainly handy at the wheel.
Makes sense, it was a lot quicker than the others on track.
Yeah it took me by surprise that's for sure.
Fix the Gearbox , upload new vids but drive on street :)
Looks like you were having a great time there Robin, excellent driving. 8)
Shame about the gearbox though. Bollocks!
Thanks for uploading the videos, enjoyed watching them.
Good vids Robin, thanks for sharing :)

Hahaha that quote had me laughing, i can just picture the look of realisation on someones face....!
Well I have finally managed to find some spare time to swap the gearbox for one which is fitted with a quaife. Opened up the box and here is the damage:

Was hoping i could change 5th gear but there is lots of chewed teeth in the box so going to have to strip it down to get the LSD out to put into my spare atv.
Poor show, there's still part of the teeth left... ;D
Rebuilt mine that did the same, or rather JP Race did, so it's deffo saveable.
Going to look into strengthening the gears by some sort of heat treatment.
On a more positive note I have fitted a thermocouple reader which i picked up off eBay from my fellow yellows for £20:

Measuring oil temp, coolant temp, pre and post intercooler.
Holy mother!!! thats fudged up the ass!! did you select reverse at like 160mph! :P
Looks bloody cool that Robin! I assume its spliced into temp senders for oil and coolant , did you use sensors for the intercooler? Interesting work man, whats the switch or in the switch panel ?
I am using thermocouples in the 4 locations.
The button on the dash is for the gauge.
If you need them I've got spare bolts for a Gripper (I'd take it apart to clean the plates)
om nom nom
Cheers for the offer Yoofy.
I will be sending it off to gripper to have to stripped and rebuilt along with setting the preload - they quoted £80 - 100 to do it.
