Title: Scirocco GTII front seats £60
Post by: Alex on January 26, 2013, 06:28:41 PM
For sale: front seats from a 1993 Scirocco GTII

These are the same pattern as the Genesis seats, and slot straight into a Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3 with no modifications. Sit a little lower and both sides have height adjustment which is useful if you're a tall driver!

(NB these will be stored indoors at my parents' house from tomorrow onwards, not my inlaws' dry garage where they were photographed)

Usual detailed for sale thread:

Driver's seat:
Good condition. I swapped the outer seat bolsters for the bolsters from a low-mileage passenger seat just after I bought them so these are really firm. Tipping mechanism works and the fabric has no tears anywhere. The only defect is a small patch of vinyl is missing from the outer bolster, I've touched it in with a marker pen so it hardly shows:

There are a couple of patches where the fabric is a little bobbly, which is my fault, caused by cleaning not hard wear.

Passenger seat
This side is immaculate. Bolsters are really firm, no tears in the fabric, no bobbling, no missing bits of vinyl. The only niggle with this is it's got the small Polo flipper handle, not the long Scirocco one which holds your seatbelt. You can still buy the Scirocco ones from Volkswagen for a couple of quid, or if you prefer you could put a matching Polo flipper on the driver's seat. Fitting takes seconds, just pull it off.

Here's one of the fabric:

Why am I selling?
The bobbling on the driver's side seat base is something I've wanted to sort for a while, but it's impossible finding spare parts for these without paying a fortune, so the easiest thing to do was to buy another set of seats, swap the driver's side and sell mine with the new passenger side one. So the set for sale is my driver's seat which has been in my car since 2004 (including when it won Best Polo in the GTI Inters show and shine last year), and the passenger seat I bought the other week which is out of a low mileage K-plate Scirocco and has been dry stored for a few years.

Price
I'm selling these for £60 which I think is a fair price for seats in this condition.

Location
Collection from Cardiff suits me best, but I'm quite flexible.

I work in St Albans/Hatfield so I'm there for a couple of days per week, collection from there is fine.

Or I can drop them off between Cardiff and St Albans (depending what car I've got at the time)
