Bought a set of NGK BP7EVX from eBay, but they sent BPR7EIX.
Initial research suggests the BPR7EIX may have replaced the BP7EVX.
The NGK partfinder lists both plugs for the G40

Has anyone any experience of the BPR7EIX plugs, and know if they'll be OK for 9.5:1 compression, ~1bar boost?
I guess going on the above they'll be fine, but just want to check if anyone is using them/has used them before also.

That's a change from platinum to an iridium plug, with the inclusion of a suppression resistor? Polo has a resistor in the rotor arm, so they're not necessary but shouldn't reduce the strength/quality of the spark.
Should be fine, presume they're more expensive than the BP7EVX? I use the BP8EVX and they're good, don't think I've melted any (done a couple of W4DPO whilst on giggle gas).
One thing I would mention, especially if buying off eBay, check the plugs over carefully when you remove them from the packaging, old Royal Mail aren't the most sympathetic of people when slinging parcels about, and the last thing you want is a cracked centre electrode/ceramic and that working its way into your engine.
If you have issues with ignition break down under boost, I'd remove the resistor out of the rotor arm.

Brill, cheers gents. Excellent advice as always - especially checking the plugs over. Hadn't realised these had a resistor. Is there any way to tell from looking at the plug, or is it buried in the ceramic?
Will be well buried- plugs are hard to take apart without smashing anything!
Done roughly 500 miles on these now and all seems fine. Cheers all
