Title: Fuel consumption at 1st stage
Post by: Alexiskayak_7 on November 16, 2008, 04:20:13 PM
Well... I'm ready to have a 1st stage to my G, (68mm pulley, chip, de-cat exhaust, funnel filter)
The only thing that i'm thinging is fuel consymption. Is it going to be too much increased?
Also de-wedging the TB increases more the consumption (Does it harm the engine too)?

the pulley is the main thing, but it's not going to make a big difference to fuel consumption really.  Especially with normal driving, will make it use a touch more fuel when you've got your foot down.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.

With the ecu remap? It has more fuel consuption?

more than likely yes but it depends on how the remap is done.  tuning an engine is all about getting it to use more fuel (and hence produce more power) so MPG is nearly always affected.  Most factory fuel maps are designed to be a compromise of power against economy so usual remaps are done without this compromise in mind.
