I'm currently rebuilding a G40 engine, the dipstick is extremely loose in the block and looks like it's been leaking oil around the base for a while.
Just wondered if anyone had any advice, as I'm not sure quite how tight it should be but I do remember when I did the GT engine that it was nowhere near as loose. Would replacing the o-ring on the dipstick make enough of a difference?
My old o ring fell to pieces so i just put it in and sealed it with some loctite black thick gasket sealant and its been fine 1 year later on.
Sounds like a plan! I'll get a new o-ring ordered for it
