Is there a quick rack kit for the POLO ?
will a mk1 golf kit manage to fit.
found this http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=900_1799_1806&products_id=13226&osCsid=svs88kiuogj96p2neb14pto881
offers a 2.9 lock to lock ratio. would be interested in fitting this if a knew it worked
The second thing is uprated CV joints ? ...
there's nothing that'll fit right away. golf ones aren't the same.
I'm sure something could be modified to fit but nothing will just go on.
Quaife where the only ones I knew that did one and that is LHD only. I did ask them about it a year or so ago and they said the LHD was discontinued but its still listed on their website.
I suppose like the diff's you get enough people to want one and I suppose they could look at doing a run of them.
That's a Shame!
Nothin is ever easy for the polo.
nope! they are rare cars, it's not worth the huge tooling and manufacturing costs for companies to make things like this for the amount they can hope to sell. things are much easier on golfs
Well I was thinking when the polo was finished to find a mk1 golf.
But then again a thought about moving away from Vw.
Oh well standard steering will have to do..
yep not much you can do about that!
Smaller steering wheel and bigger muscles should do it !
lol
already got that covered
i like my omp steering wheel, 300mm i think deep inset on it.
Does anyone know PCD spline and Size of inner CV joint?
just to look for a better Quality one ..
there are 2 splines. ive seen 22 and 24 spline shafts! as part of my coilovers i build the outer CV is a larger strong version and my research found 2 splines. earlier polos mk1/2 had 22 i think. il confirm when i count on my stuff at home.
thanks, im trying to build a stronger shaft...
as i managed to go through least half a dozen CV's
something wrong there then, were are you getting CV joints from? Unless you have something like 250bhp there is some other problem causing your CVs to fail so much. Possible one is using the wrong drive shaft which is the wrong length (later mk3 polos had slightly shorter shafts). Or if you're buying CVs from ebay then they are probably poor quality parts.
He's probably doing 6000rpm launches ;)
Presumably all that needs to be done to change the ratio is to lengthen or "increase" the pitch on the splines (Is that the right term?! :-\) on both the shaft and the worm gear?
ie if it was stud bar, a coarser pitch, so that one turn equals more travel.
I really have no idea about cv's! I am or at least was quite harsh with them but it's the only car av ever had an issue with.!
Plus all cv's were second hand from breakers yard. Just kept buying shafts.
But main reason am askin is al be runnin a 1341 g60 - 68mm pulley
Cam, bvh + usual mods..
So over 200bhp for sure .
