Title: quaife diff.... what exactly is it?>

i know really basic and stupid qestion to some of you, but what exactly is one? what does it do, ive been reading around but still slightly confused, along the lines of getting more traction?

a quaife is an auto-torque-biasing differential.  It transfers power to the wheel with the most traction using a load of complicated gears.

It is so power is going to the wheel that has grip instead of with an open diff, it'll just let the wheek with no grip spin while no power goes to the wheel with grip.
