Title: Mk2 G40 outlet collar/boost hose clearance
Post by: tez on July 02, 2012, 11:43:35 AM
There's been a bit more progress on my Mk2 and the engine is in now. I'm having clearance issues with the boost hoses and specifically the outlet collar on the charger itself.

The shell has a brace bar welded in across the front as a previous owner cut the original crossmember out when doing a turbo conversion. There's enough room in the bay for the charger, but nowhere for the outlet collar and hoses to the intercooler to go.

Any ideas on how I can do this? Is it possible to get a new crossmember panel so I can have it welded in? I'm on the lookout for an OEM Mk2 intercooler just to give you an idea of how I need it to fit.

Cheers!

You may as well get a custom intercooler and possibly outlet now. To reverse engineer that is not worth the time or money imho but its your call  :)
