Title: Oil Pressure Switch
Post by: Dan-G40 on June 16, 2012, 05:45:36 PM
Does anyone know what the correct part number or colour is for the oil pressure switch just above the inlet manifold? It looks black to me but when I ordered a cheapy it made the oil light flash... rang VW up today to order a proper one but apparently there are three different types, a grey, a black and another one. I can take the old one out and give them the part number but just wanted to ask on here in case someone has it to hand  ;)

Thanks

both my Gs were different - an early with a blue and brown iirc and my late G with just a black one. its the values on the side (very small stamped letters/number) which state the pressure - may need to give it a quick scrub with some sand paper so you can read it

yeah I'm not so sure you can go off the colour of it, it'll say what value pressure switch it is in writing stamped on it.
