Recently i changed my suspension on the bready, so its now 30mm lower at the rear.
And i also put new wheels on (standard 13" G40 alloys) I usred to have standard genesis wheels on before.
At the weekend we had the GF parents over and we decided oto go out for a meal. With the extra weight of her parents in the car obviously the car is lower and the wheels are higher into the arches it began to rub but only on the rear left N/S wheel when turning left.
When we pulled up in the car park i ran my fingers under the arch and the gap between the wheel and the arch was around 1cm and the other side is around 2cm of clearence.
So something somewhere is out of allignment. or could it be that my rear beam is slightly bent.
Nah, they're all like that. 10mm difference is pretty normal, it's just poor set up and build quality from the factory.
There is some adjustment in the axle to body mounting brackets.

he just means the mounts that hold the axle to the car with 3 bolts. If you loosen them then there is a small amount of movement but it's more about moving the axle back/forwards/left/right than anything that affect the height. But it's useful if the wheels aren't lined up right (and you have four wheel alignment kit at your disposal).
As for height difference, it's common, not just on polos, cars are built to a cost and they aren't perfect. Also with a 20 year old car the shell isn't going to be perfectly straight any more.
This is why some people kit coilovers, so they can set the height on perfectly.
