IIRC Pete said it was a virtually standard engine car but running sorted chassis and slicks. The driver was an absolute demon though and more than made up for the lack of power.

The AX has a 1.6 VTS engine in there with an aftermarket exhaust and a few other odds and ends but no FI, Marc who owns it said it produces about 140-145bhp but it does weigh around 600kg and as someone has said he is a VERY good driver!

After watching those videos from the AX perspective and Yoofs, that AX needs some work to stop the understeer. So much more than yoofs! Looked like he enjoyed the limit and beyond too much haha

He's just fitted a LSD, and says it backs into corners alot more now, it's an impressive package and proves that power isn't everything, on a small track like Blyton he certainly gave me a run for my money, our last session with no traffic were epic, unfortunately they're not on video.

I'm looking forward to this year at Blyton, get to try some proper slicks  :) (and Marc is joining us in his AX  ;D)

That's the vid filmed from the AX, watch from 10min in.

Also AX was on formula student slicks, which I know go off after a few laps as the car is probably double the weight of a FS car, that said when it does grip it's sweet!

The polo felt a bit soggy on the track, i needed loads of stiffening up. Perfect engine, shoddy chassis.

i think in the early 90's, to be declared has a "hot hatch" or "pocket rocket" they only need week chassis, lightweight and to lift one wheel in corners.. so there you have, amazing cars!!

AX does look good

When you say the driver is a 'demon' i say just a bit of a nutter, bit like myself, bit wreckless and harsh.

I get too excited and engrossed in winning and forget about smoothness.

I will try find some footage of me driving the B18 EG civic, I chase an Evo 8 easily

From a Berg Cup Car- I doubt you'd get away with that setup on a road car though, unless you had ~ET0 wheels and big arches to suit.
