Title: Club Polo Trackday / Tatton Park
Post by: Yoof on April 05, 2012, 12:54:20 PM
All,

Club Polo have organised a trackday at Blyton Park:

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=272586&st=0

Last year this was a bargin at £99 for Club Polo members (worth joining just for this!)

There is talk of camping there on Saturday night, and driving over to Tatton Park the following morning.

Link to last years antics there:

http://www.polog40.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,7293.0.html

Register your interest over on Club Polo, so Mark can book you in/sort payment out.

I'll deffo be going  :)

I'll more than likely go again. I'd rather camp on the friday really though.  I'm not going to tatton in my polo, I'd just go home sat night and go to tatton the day after in a nice, comfy car :D

Hayesey you are seriously getting old dude! Although thinking about it that sounds a much better idea to me.

I'm up for it again though, was a good laugh last year. Will you be ready for it by then Alex?

Who me?

I'm considering this but we're due to be moving house this summer so it'll depend on what's going on there.

My car hasn't been on track for over two years. I have, but in other stuff. Weaksauce.

I did actually mean Juggins as he 'tried' to do it last year but obviously failed in spectacular fashion, but would be good to see yours banging round too Alex.

In answer to whether you can watch you can yes. There is no fee to come and spectate and there is a banking to go and stand on. I wouldn't bet on watching for long though, it can get a bit boring but more often than not someone will take you out for some passenger laps if you want.

get your name down!!!

I need to start having peoples deposits or if you want, you can pay in full.

Details on how to pay are here
http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=272586&view=findpost&p=2334188 (http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=272586&view=findpost&p=2334188)

Also I've confirmed that they club will have a 10 car stand at Tatton so if you guys are not having you own and would like to be on the CP stand just put your name down.

Also please let me know if you want to camp at the track on the saturday night by putting it next to your name!

Cheers
Mark

last time I stayed at a travel lodge in scunthorpe which was a bit of a trek really.  Where was the B&B?

I need to get my name down...

Gainsborough's probably your best bet for a B&B? Not sure I'd recommend Gainsborough for a cultured night out though!

Going to book this once I know that the body shop are planning on finishing my car some time soon.

I have just paid my deposit.

Hayes i will be staying over as well, i stayed at a travelodge about 15miles away but wouldn't mind finding a good B&B with a large parking area.

There's a decent takeaway pizza place in Gainsborough, and a proper (but odd) ale pub in town too, so scran and a sup would be sorted.

Hayes the travelodge i stayed at last time is £24.50 for the Friday night, its 11 miles from Blyton and is called - Blyth A1 (M)

I'll be booking this as its so cheap.

Post by: Andy on May 20, 2012, 07:02:02 PM
Blyth's more like 20 miles from Blyton Rocket - not that it matters!

Worth mentioning that in Gainsborough Super Unleaded is a little bit foreign to them - so arrive with a full tank.

You're right Andy its 16.1 miles not 11 miles.

Title: Re: Club Polo Trackday / Tatton Park

hmm, that's further than the one I stayed at in scunthorpe then!  That's only 13 miles.

Something I don't think I've covered is additional drivers, passangers, Helmet Hire or tuition. If you want any of these then you need to let me know in advance.

Tuition £25 for 20 mins
Additional Drivers are £25 per driver
Passengers are £10.

21 miles if you use the shortest road route, Cunthorpe's closer and Gainsboghorror is closer still.

update on the camping front!

I've just spoke to Performance Trackdays who has just spoken to the track owner. Its £10 per tent payable on the day to the track owner

We have also been given the option to camp on the friday night as well. Personally I'll be staying in a B&B but if people want to camp they can but I need to know before had as we have to make sure that someone is there to open it up for us!

So please update the list with you camping choices!

Hi guys,

I'm not going to be able to make it to the trackday at Blyton on Saturday due to car issues so my place is up for grabs. I paid £79 for the full day, but am willing to take offers on it. Is anyone interested in going?

Quote- Road Insurance Certificate (Not Always needed)

I can't understand why this would ever be needed, seems weird.  An insurance co certainly isn't going to pay out for any crash that happens on a track!  You can buy track insurance but it's eye wateringly expensive
Title: Re: Club Polo Trackday / Tatton Park
Post by: mark_crox on August 03, 2012, 10:55:15 AM
Yeah totally.. I've never been asked for it even though a couple of places have said to bring it. But that was not on a Mazda on Track day or at Blyton.. but last think I want to happing is they ask for it and I get shouted at for not saying people should bring it! :-D
Title: Re: Club Polo Trackday / Tatton Park
Post by: hayesey on August 03, 2012, 11:07:18 AM
yes I agree, just seems odd for them to want to see it as it will have no legal standing or use what-so-ever for the cars on track.  Also surely a fair percentage of the cars on a track day aren't insured for road use at all.  Just weird!
