not 100% on all the brands but there have been a few readily available..

if you go to the merchandise at the top of the page it might stil be available ..
its Wurth PTFE that i've been using and so do the majority.

Welcome to the forum.  Any info on the car?

it's got to be the right stuff.  Generally stuff that's sold as "food grade".  To be sure, order it from PeteG40 on here then you know it's right.

p.s. I think you mean "bought" not "brought".  :D

Ahhh okk well I need to have a word with him then :).

The  car is apline white stage 4, 65mm pully, chip to match the charger, think it has a GT inlet and G60 brake cylinder jobby , boost return mod with a boost gauge.

Been running it around for this week seem to be fine the only worry is there a bit of oil coming out the throttle body :/ ??? Its quite a high milage 165,000. Next week its coming off the road so I can tinker around with it just wondering what's the best place to start with  and it will be used as my daily once I've sorted it all out. :D.

Sorry about the spelling :P

sounds like either the boost return mod hasn't been done correctly (oil breather at the back of the block to a catch tank, or the charger seals are weeping.

umm well the charger was serviced 12,000 miles ago and don`t really know how long they last before next service ?  i can't really see any signs of a catch tank so it might be just that the breather squirting the oil every where :/

well it could be the breather is just vented to air.

As for charger seals - can go at any time.  But a full service depends on how you drive it and on what pulley.

My oil seals just went and its done 10k, but there is 10k of normal driving then 5k of that ha been had driving which probably hasn't done any favours.

its running a 65mm pully with v belts. just had another look and iam pretty sure its coming out the throttle body not the breather. So looks like ive gotta send the charger away for a sercive :(. Any 1 know how much it is and how long it takes ?? (Jabba).

If you know the right people it cost way less than that, under £300 posted. Or you can do it yourself and buy the kit. £180 or something? I would do it myself but im too lazy. One day i will do it.

Umm well I might send the whole car up to Jabba to get it done properly cuz I know if I do it, it will be in bits for ages and taking that charger apart looks like a mission with all them seals but I guess its not that hard if you put your mind to it ha ?

My charger is a stage 4 so looking for the same one.

Well ur rebuild will cost £425
Plus you won't have a charger for a week ad guess.

There is an r1 (stage5) charger up for grabs in for sale section at £550

Plus you will have spare charger and won't have to take car off the road

Just a quick story about 'Jules' on here and his Jabba R1 charger.

Taken apart they'd missed some porting, not replaced the end bearing or oil seal and not replaced 4 out the apex seals. He'd paid over £1000 for some work (incl r1+ chip pulley etc) abotu 10 years ago.... He was not a happy bunny when he took his apart!!

I'm not badmouthing Jabba in any way, I've only ever read/ seen pics of their work and haven't been impressed. However I've never been there/ met anyone from there/ had any work done by them (I've always been too scared tbh- if it was 20vT I'd consider them but G40's are rare as hens teeth in rocking horse poo!)

I'd recommend Pete ^ above this post. Knows his shit about chargers and is a very helpful bloke to boot! Very good pricing too IMO. Basically, not a bad word to say about him and I'd get him to do it if it were me :D

Thats where all my chargers go. If you cant find people to do the porting then ask jabba just to port it and then send it elsewhere to rebuild it.

I know there is lots of mixed views about jabba, good and bad, but my last item was a bvh and although i couldnt point the finger at them directly, my valve seat failed and wrote off my whole engine. They were the last to have it and it did 0 miles from when it was done. £2k later and im was a little pissed off.

But my R1 is really good porting.

There unit is ment to be tip top as well. If you get any work done by them make sure you ask to see photos of bearings/seals coming out/in and get them to send everything back.
