Title: G40 loss of power under acceleration.
Post by: Jester on March 20, 2012, 05:11:48 PM
Hello, i'm a bit concerned about my g40 today, i haven't driven it much as it's a 2nd car, but i had to use it today to go climbing in.
Anyway i came to duel carriageway and gave it some, i was in 3rd around 5.5-6k revs changed into 4th and it judders and i had a loss of power, now i ran it around a bit more and it kept happening
after the loss of power it then kicks back in and shoots of, but if i change gear and completely let off then back on the power it doesn't seem to do it.

Sorry for the terrible description, I've google'd but not much comes up, something about cleaning the fuel injectors?

any help would be appreciated.

How often should they all be replaced?

well plugs every 40,000 miles at the most.  The others - leads, when they go hard/brittle and dizzy cap/arm are only a few quid.  Coils arent too good and they do go (leaving you in the lurch)

Thanks for the help pete.

I'm going to take it into my local garage to try and sort it out, hope it isn't serious.
