Im after all the people on here for some advise on the G60 charger on the G40.
I know eppo (eppofreak?) had a friend, (as i have seen the videos on youtube 8) ) who has done it but are there many people from uk that have done it?
Please get in touch.
Many thanks
James
there are a few guys here in Portugal running g60's.
there's a mechanic known as madmike in north of Portugal who has a beast g60, you can see his car on eppo's youtube page.
i can look for his email and you can talk with him.
Ah that his name. I remember now! Yeah seen them videos and sound awesome. Would like to know some info so if you could get his email and he doesnt mind that would be great!
eppo's will be in touch with you in a while with details.
cheers!
Hi James!! The videos i have on youtube, there are of two diferent polo´s G60, but they are made by the same person,.. madmike!!!
If you want to know something more about then, please do a registration in our comunity, me and madmike are the site administrators of the club, here is the link:

greetings of Portugal ;)
What's needed:
Adapter plate,
New pulleys or use a spacer on your ones, (you'd probably want a larger pulley than you use now.)
New pipework,
Bigger intercooler,
MAP sensor + map
Big balls.
Check german ebay for an adapter but there is one here that has a tensioner which would be better than the ones on germany ebay:

Oh, and it would probably want a rebuild with those High RPM bearings, but we dont really know how long they last though.
i'll chase my supplier for the high rpm bearings again.
can use zz shielded bearings (not rubber sealed) which are much higher rpm. However someone on dubforce said that as they are only shields and not seals, his started whinning and needed changing every 1,000 miles!

I think these special high RPM bearings had viton seals on them - I heard those metal ones end up loosing all their grease quick.
That G60 looks very complicated, no boost return is the boost controlled via a dump valve? What sort of power is that running?
hi Justin!! thanks for you join us at G-Lader Club :)
you can ask madmike in the forum, here is the link for you can see his project:

This is my list so far:
G60 charger
G60 mounting plate for G40
G60 outlet elbow
Induction kit/pipework
FMIC & Pipework
1.5 bar map sensor
5pk 68mm ribbed belt kit
Sytec 135 ltr/hour
Sytec fuel filter
Stainless braided fuel lines
Sytec hose finishers
Bigger injectors? 310cc
Have joined your club as well eppo!
65mm, you know it makes sense....
Regarding FMIC- mine's a custom one, so not much help, however I do have one from my Emtech turbo kit I'm not using, core is plenty thick and it's for big power turbo applications, so should be mroe than adequate for this :)
QuoteHave joined your club as well eppo!
You can now have acess to the full forum Jezza-7 ;)
im pretty much in the exact same boat..
been weighing up the pro's and con's...
but ive decided to keep my ibiza for the rest of the year and polo for summer..
I will have 2x superchargers up for sale.
1 standard with roughly 10k on it
the other is the r1 charger a bought from 'yoof' a while back which has done exactly the run in miles which it was sold at.

You have all on the list, even more than is necessary. You could only add uprated clutch.
can anyone tell me the standard map sensor limit, or its maximum boost pressure that it may handle.
Also advise on buying a G60 charger..
What spec of charger is my best option, is the "rs kit" worth purchasing.
thanks Terry
Standard MAP sensor is good for 1 bar of boost. 250kPa uprated ones can do 1.5 bar.
Does anything else need to be changed with this like the chip?.

do you have any or had any transmission casualties/problems with yours as I've read your thread and yours is putting out in the region of 200bhp with a nice torque cure if i remember correctly ? Just wondered how a atv box comes with double original power put through it from a g60 ?

you need a remap to suit.

Indeed :D should be first thing on the list. Without a decent map, the engine won't last to see a charger service!

I haven't had any problems with gearbox so far :). I have 8P box not ATV.
ive seen a few posts on box's failing,
i was diggin deep in some research and seen one guy 'STU BAXTOR' running a G60 charger with a 1341cc bottom end running a claimed 219bhp at flywheel :o!
service intervals every 3,000miles :/ !
and the charger lasted a good 18,000 ....
Can anyone advise on the porting on a G60 charger.. ive seen rs rs2, rs3, on sls tuning ive seen RS GT ...
What you mean by internals? charger or engine?
Are you answering my post?
if so says 'intervals' as in charger service intervals.
Yeah Stu Baxter's was 219bhp, it made that at a rolling road day at Aldon Automotive was pretty impressive. Comedy car too with a massive intercooler on the front
sorry i miss read, i thought it said internals! DOH! ::)
no probs haa im a bit doh at typing anyway!
Ye does anyone have a website or old post from this car so i can see spec list,
ive been up half the night on some german forum motor talk.de
i want that 200+ g60 charger theme goin on! alot of german owners say a well setup g60 charger will be better than most k03 turbo set ups.. but cost a hell of alot more
depends what you mean by better. Probably possible to get more boost and there's no turbo lag (although with a well set up K03 there is no lag unless you are in the completely wrong gear). Some people will prefer the instant punch in the face acceleration you get from the supercharger rather than a slightly more progressive acceleration from a turbo. But your drive-train certainly wont prefer it! Each to their own
I wouldn't say better in my own words just scammin things off the net here..
I do want to keep it g lader tho :/ suppose i gotta learn the hard way if its worth it !
Just tryin to get all the help i can. im racking up a bill of 500+euros on RPM website and av still to look for a charger and no idea which one to get and what my options are..
Im staying with a g-lader purely cause its a waste to turbo a original G40, as its not a T40. Might as well get a GT and put a PY lump in it!
Plus the G60 lader had a much more deeper groan/roar and sounds incredible!
I have already got my charger and just getting parts over time, like the bracket etc. What size pulley you going to run? 60mm sounds well sweet but i bet it dont last long. Im going for a 68mm toothed kit as thats what the corrado G60 lads run. They recommend not to go any smaller. When you planning to do yours? I got a lot of info from the corrado boys.
but it's not a G60 either ;)
Mine is actually a gt!
I just love that noise and characteristics !
I'm looking at running a 24 toothed pulled 70mm
What spec of charger you using?
Well i spoke to jabba at ultimate dubs and looked at their charger porting to the G60, its called stage 4 but its the same a the R1 port for the G40. Looked really well ported. £440 but im not sure if they uprate the bearings to the Higher RPM ones that you can get. Im planning on getting pete tp service it and port it.
Im gonna be running a 65mm pulley by the looks as RPM dont do a 68mm. The bracket they sell its good for the polo but you have to get a longer belt than the one suplied. Plus you can fit wider internal timing belts due to the bigger cut out on the bracket.
Ye seen a g werks stage 4! But dono if a trust It!
68&70mm pulleys are both 24teeth and very close.
For the safety of the charger a reckon 70mm running with stage 4 on the Internet claims up too 1.5bar!
Rp-Motorsport . It's the new g-ladersite
RP-Motorsport isn't g-laderseite, MAXRpm is what G-Laderseite change their name too.
Sorry that's what a meant :$!
That many websites am
Looking at .. Tryin to compare
Prices and parts :-0
G-werks aren't around anymore so really its only jabba. Jabba said they will cover me with a 68mm pulley but any less they wont warrant it.
With that teeth number is that for a longer belt for the bracket?
How do you mean?
Most toothed kits on sites for g60 are measured by teeth.
And yes they are ok for the longer belts.
I spoke to thorsten today from g-ladersite and he said with the bracket from them and the toothed kit you will need a longer belt.
ah, ill find the website that posted this problem,
someone suggested cutting the bracket..
let me have a look
Hi,
If you are looking for some extra power, www.roettele-racing.de is also a very neat site.
they are now running a G65 polo PY with stock cams etc already hitting 230bhp!!
a lot of conversion stuff to find there. (aswell as G45, G75!,...)
Stock cams- but with twice as many! ;)
It's a 16v head on the G65 PY lump according to their site. :D
Yes a seen the 16v build! looks really good.
Is it the AFH head ?? ( 1.4 16v polo/lupo 100bhp )
Nope, roller rocker (later head) I presume because the waterways line up...
Which engine code is that yoof?
Seems to be a popular modification getting!
Assume because the 8v head is quite restricting unless Ported n bigger valves
Seems they chose the unit off a Golf, but presume it's available with other cars? They needed to modify water ways to make it work as well.
