Title: Funny Idle
Post by: Dirrt on October 31, 2008, 02:08:02 PM
As topic states, happened last night on the way to pick up some more G40 BBS wheels and as I was driving along this skinny country road, I pulled in to let a car through... As I pulled in and stopped she started to rev and was then idling at like 2K and sat there

My heart sank :'(
I revved her very lightly and gently (as some would to warm a car) and let off and nothing changed
I did the same again and she returned to normal

Why would she have done this/what would have coursed her to do that?

it could be a vacuum leak.  Check that all the thin vacuum pipes are connected and not split.  And that the throttle cable isn't sticking and holding the throttle open slightly.
