Post by: beatboxG40 on January 30, 2012, 07:22:57 PM
Can a knakerd scroll shaft bearing make the scroll rattle and move within the casting, if it does how can you tell, I can't determine why my engine shudders on occasion
Regards

you'll get play in the bearing and scroll can bouce side to side hitting the cases.

shudders might be due to the clutch not biting properly- oil contamination? engine mounts loose/worn? timing out?

often when the scroll bearing has gone it makes no discernible noise, just quietly wears the scroll till the supercharger is knackered.

Yeah my scroll bearing made no noise at all and then flew upwards through the casing :) ::)
