Post by: poloeatonm45 on January 18, 2012, 07:54:04 PM
Hi guys has anyone ever had a py block skimmed my engine keeps blowing head gaskets so i took the head and block over to a machine shop and he has told me the block needs skimming but i have never heard of anyone skimmin a py block before. So jus want to check its ok to do??? The guy from the shop said it only needs a bit off not alot.  Has anyone got any views on this

Thanks

had mine skimmed prior to rebuild along with the head no problems at all as long as they only take a little of you will be fine, just send it to a decent machine shop who are used to doing block/heads
