Title: dash lights

just a quick one, can you change the dash light bulbs that light up the dials?
my mph one went first then a day later the rev counter one died.

Yeah you can. Its a bit of a pain as you have to take out the clocks. My mph went about 2 years ago, im just very lazy and havent changed it. Also i dont drive much at night lol.

I think you can get bulbs from halfords and iirc the very small.

I had one of these gone recently. Turns out,it wasn't even blown.
With the clocks out, I did a quick continuity test & power wasn't getting through the bulb.
I cleaned the flexible pcb (someone can inform me of the technical name) with contact cleaner & made sure the bulb had good contact again using the continuity test. Works away now.

My LCD clock is acting up intermittently now......sort that another day.

The ones Halfords sell aren't the correct ones (unless they've recently updated their stock). They cost about £1.50 from a VW dealer or about £0.70 from a Skoda dealer ;)

From memory there's 3 in a mk3 Polo clock. Always worth buying a few spare. They last forever but you never know, next time round they may be obsolete!

cool cheers for that. i wouldnt have thought of vw for them
