Title: Need help asap
Post by: Dan:) on October 13, 2011, 07:29:38 PM
If I buy an aftermarket air filter do I need to install a mass air flow meter on the original 1.3 engine, or will it rn the same and be fine??

Wait! What? Since when air filters need anything else other than installation? It ll be fine. The only problems ever reported with the installation of an aftermarket air filter are problems caused by cheap air filters that didn't do their work well or human stupidity whether that was spraying stuff in the intake to clean the filter or washing it while still on the car and hydro-locking the engine! On the G40 make sure not to remove the existing air flow meter and you ll be fine! On other cars I have, from time to time, heard an urban legend that they actually run worse or explode!
