Title: Subframe, wheels, paddle clutch, hubcaps, spring assisters, brakes, alternators
Post by: Andy on September 25, 2011, 06:05:43 PM
I'm having a bit of a clear-out... All parts are located in Warwickshire, I'm about 5 mins from J12 M40 - I can arrange postage if required or possibly meet up.

Sensible offers accepted - I can only say no!

Sachs paddle clutch with OEM pressure plate. £80.
I used this on my G40 when running a G-lader on a 1341cc bottom end with BV head - had no issues with it slipping. It was originally from a 6N rally car and I got it re-sintered for £50. Only took it out because I thought this was the cause of a drivetrain rattle - but it turned out to be the gearbox instead... I'd already bought a Helix setup to replace it, so this has just sat on the shelf for a few years. There's some surface rust on the pressure plate (see pic), but this should clean up nicely.

Stage 3 PPP Prototype Subframe with TCAs and Powerflex bushes. £400.
This is the original UK-produced subframe that we prototyped on my car. It uses a standard gearbox mount as the rear hoop is clearanced to fit around this - later production versions used a new gearbox mount to ease the production process. Only removed from my car because I couldn't run it with our prototype adjustable TCAs - the TCA mount uses an M10 captive nut on the frame, and our adjustable TCAs use M13 bolts.
Please note that price includes a decent set of TCAs with Powerflex bushes.

Set of new rear brake shoes for 86C Polos. Jurid branded - subsiduary of OEM tier 1 supplier Honeywell. £10.
I bought these at the same time as a new handbrake cable for the MOT, forgetting that I'd already fitted new rear shoes the previous year...

Pair of new brake drums for 86C Polos. Vetech branded. £25.
Brand new, not taken out of packaging. Cheaper than GSF!

Set of 4 Speedlines, 14" x 6" ET38. £200 - tyres extra.
Sandblasted and powder coated satin black, not some pikey Nitromoors and rattle can "refurb". Centre caps have been rattled canned though - matt black. Only for sale because I got some Compo MOs as part of a deal on another car!
They will have the new tyres removed to go on my MOs, but I can put on a set of 185/50 R14 A539s for the buyer at extra cost. Two are 2-3mm of tread, two are 4-5mm of tread - see photos for examples.

Grayston spring assistors - stiffen up a set of springs! New £25.
Very handy for trackdays or drag strip use when you might want to temporarily stiffen up the rear springs - or maybe if you've got scrubbing issues. They're £15 each in Halfords, and these are brand new. Bought them for Santa Pod to supplement the existing pair I'm using, but I couldn't fit both sets in!

Coil spring clamps. Pikey/temporary raising or lowering. New £15.
New and unused. Bought to lower a car at work for the Geneva Motor Show, but they cut the springs instead so I couldn't flog them these!

Jetex airfilter element for Saab 9-5 Aero. £10.
Might be of use to someone?! I took it off my daily to clean and re-oil - and ended up using a standard filter element anyway to make it quieter.

Will ask Mike when he gets back from holiday- but fairly sure he'll have the paddle clutch.

Andy, do these wheels clear the compression struts on the subframe when on full lock or are spacers required ?

On my car with the way I had the frame set, they caught very slightly on one side - a 5mm spacer would give more than enough clearance.

I'm interested in the wheels, have you ever run them with larger calipers? I have the Willwood midilite kit coming, any idea how these perform?

I'd be interested in a wheel and subframe deal.

Mike

Apologies for the slow response guys, I've just got back from a trip to India with work.

Wheels provisionally sold to Jezza-7. (You have PM back!)
Drums and clutch have gone.

Subframe and other bits still available.

I'd post the frame for £350, but without the TCAs.
