Title: Oil pressure
Post by: Jake G 4 0 on July 25, 2011, 10:49:39 PM
Hi guys,

Had my G40 up and running for a few days now since the rebuild going for an MOT this week (fingers crossed).

But the issue I was wondering about is the oil pressure I fitted the gauge and started her up and it will read between 80-100 psi when cold and would settle to around 40-60psi when warm. But now after a couple of days I started it today to check over a few things and once warm the pressure dropped to 20-25 psi it will rise with revs etc.

But what I was wondering what sort of pressure you guys with gauges were getting??

Many thanks Jake.

As your revs increase so does the pressure. My gauge used to read at cold approx 70 then once warm 15-20 i think.

What gauge is it? Mine was a stack.

Yeh the pressure increases with the revs, I was just curious as there was such a drop from one day to the next. First couple of days it was right up there and now it's come down a bit.

I have got a "Tim" gauge probably not the best in the Market but I just wanted something to give me the oil pressure and boost pressure.

20-25 is about right for idle when it's warm

Cheers lads,

I just wanted to double check I was getting the right pressure.

Thanks again.
