What about your dizzy and rotor arm?

Could be hall sender in the distributor.

still could be the problem - a weak spark so intermittant.  How old is the coil.  On the g40s i've had i generally put a new coil on as i/friends have had them fail more times than i care to mention.

Other thing g40s are temperamental with is shitty earths, especially the one that goes from the charger to chassis leg.

I bought the car a week and a half ago so don't know anything bout it, I've been looking on here and just found the previous owner was having similar problems with it last year lol!! Bout it from dazzap, found it on here for sale last year also! Amazing what you can find lol! I'll try a new coil also then
