Title: Additional fuel filters
Post by: dub-disaster on June 16, 2011, 07:06:55 PM
Been refurbingthw rear under side of my car including fuel system but I also had to remove alotof under seal and crap from the bottom i did cover the fuel pipes that were open due to removal of
pump and filter and cradle, but I'm now getting para lid that there's crap in the lines I've tried cleaning them out with an aeosol but dnt have acess to compressed air to blow them out.
I bought a couple of those small fuel filter from eBay, can I stick on in the feed pip to the uel pump and on just before the injector rail then run it like that for a few miles then tale them out. ?
Would the small size of the filters cause much of a restriction ?? They have 6 or 8mm barbs on so if you cut the 6's of turs to an 8 if you see what I mean, justmade me wonder as the i line fuel filter is about 3 times the size just wondered the reason ??

I don't get it to be honest...if you're worried about fuel contamination then perhaps disconnect the fuel feed at the rail and extend the hose into a petrol can or other suitable container? Then give the pumps 12v and run a few litres of fuel through until you're happy? After examining the fuel, if it's OK, stick it back in the tank?

Any debris in the fuel pump can kill it is what I'm worried about, good idea anyway though

Remove the in-line feed hose from the circuit and just do the same using only the lift pump?
