it sparks but theres no go!
usually you can hear the petrol pump load up but this isn't happening.
also my alarm has been playing up does anyone know what this could be?!?
could my alarm just be a cock or could be as simple as my pump has gone?!?
any help would be appreciated :)
Have you checked the fuse for the fuel pump?
Or could be the relay..
with out sounding like an idiot but where would i find the fuel pump fuse? or relay?
cheers :)
well both relays look fucked! and the yellow fuse is fine as are all the other fuses!
next stop..buy a new relay and see what happens i guess :?
cheers for the help so far guys
Let me know which ones as i might have some spares.
i was just going to replace them both lol no harm in having new ones! ;D
Well if you want i could send them to you to make sure that defiantly the problem?
cheers man i appreciate it! how much would the ecu one be? just in case :)
so the pump relay seemed to be at fault which is cool so my car now runs!
but another problem had popped up...the coolant light comes on and stays on. i let the car run up to temperature and the fan kicks in so theres no fault there, also i changed the coolant a few weeks ago and the temp sensors are also new!
I was a bit confused so i thought it must be the thermostat thats gone, but when i knocked the coolant tank the connector fell off, tried putting it back on but it wouldnt connect for some reason. on closer inspection i found this....

the connector inside had been pushed in and mangled! when i was moving it around this happened....

The wire popped out! great.
Could this be the cause of the coolant light being on? or could it be a combination of this and maybe the thermostat gone?
cheers
that will be the cause of the coolent light, exactly the same thing happened to me. If your in any doubt about your thermostat check the radiator top pipe gets hot when the engine is up to temp, i.e the thermostat has opened.
cheers grant
cool cheers for the info fella. are those connectors easy to come by?!?
the connectors are easy to sort - you got a soldering iron? if you were close id say come round and il put new pins on the wires and pop a new plastic connector on
haha cheers man. where are you from?
Coventry mate
thats a shame! youre a bit far man!
also..
well maplins are waste of time! they couldnt ram their own finger up their bum!
NOWHERE sell these or the bits!
