Title: Random problem

Morning all I have a bizarre problem when I'm driving the car is fine as soon as I slow down and my revs drop the car cuts out I then put a bit of pressure on the accelerator pedal and it kicks back in any one have any ideas ad to what's causing this many thanks

things to start looking at are ignition timing, idle screw setting, aux air valve.

also check the alternator and battery are sound.

Jabba sport set my timing up as my toothed pulleys don't have marks on and I have a new battery alternator and coil pack so I'm baffled

none of which really means anything, you still need to check them out.  Not really sure how you're going to check the timing though if there are no timing marks :)

The timings a long ass Job I have to put the standard pully on and set it to the marks on that and then put the toothed one on without it moving

I would get hold of a DTI gauge with a long extension and then poke it inside number one spark plug hole to find TDC and make your own mark.  This is what I did on my turbo conversion as I wasnt sure if the combination of normal polo bottom pulley and g40 timing pointer would be right, plus I just wanted to be sure.
