Is anybody nearby (Huddersfield) able to lend me a pop rivet gun so I can dewedge?

Personally matey, i'd get some chemical metal and do it with that. The majority of de-wedges i've seen with rivets (mine included when i bought the car) , I would say restrict just as much as the wedge! That a bit of an overstatement, but you do end up with 4 rivet heads popping out the one side, disturbing the airflow quit a bit. I'm sure its Haysey, that has done a cracking how to in the FAQ and added that he later changed them for chemical metal.
