Evening Gents,
Something that I've been thinking about for a while now, and now have the space to do, is a fully prepped rolling shell.
Basis of the idea is most G40s are become more and more track orientated toys, but some are full of rust, cracked chassis etc- and in reailty unless you're interested in chassis numbers, the shell isn't at all special.
Would there be any interest in buying a shell (for example low mileage 1.0litre) with the following:
Stage 3 Subframe
Full Weld in Cage (8 point)
PPP Camber Adjustable Top Mounts
Adjustable TCA
Stich Welded Chassis & Strengthened Legs
Bucket Seat mounts etc as required
Basically when I was doing my own car, and trailering it over the country, getting various bits done, I wished I could buy something to the spec and drop everything in ;D
Non of the above parts aren't things we don't currently sell, but I'm wondering if a few people would be interested in a whole shell (price dependant, think of it as a PPP 'Clubsport' Polo :D
These are the kind of bits I'm talking about:

All the prep work is very labour intensive, and I'd have to do some sums- but the final outcome could be tailored to suit pockets/requirements.
Interested to hear what you guys think,
Pete
I would definantly be intrested in a cage, adjustable top mounts, tca's and Mabe getting my floor pan done like yours with some additional stich welding out back, for good measure. All the other bits have been done on my shell although weld in subframes for bew seats would be cool to. So I'd be intrested in modification to my shell :)
would you do a saloon version for the grandads out there lol
Good idea I think, lots of shells out there to convert, and with more people doing AFH conversions etc, MK3s could become a really popular track toy.
This is a good idea pete, i would be willing to bring my shell in for the work tho if thats possible, for everything depending on the final price.
i don't think there would be enough interest for bare or track prepared polo shells! unlike other cars.
I'd be interested price dependant. I'd have thought something like this would be a few grand though? (I know, depends on spec). Could you get paint done too?
I would love one of these but I'm affraid it would be way out of my price range
Steve
Would be a lovely idea but you would have to be pretty stupid to pay for all that labour and end up with a polo. G40s are a poor mans toy so I cant imagine there are many people willing to pay for that service.
General Roll-cage making is probably the better business model

Especially if it was a better price than the safety devices cage.
They do roll cages already
if they do roll cages dose anyone one know much by any chance
Guide prices are here:

Note that those prices are fully fitted, and as they're custom built to your car there's flexibility over the design.
thanks andy ;)
Nice to see the website updated andy! I best get saving..
That's a nice polo in the rollcage pic. :D
