Title: fuel tank whats best stone chip or por - 15
Post by: dub-disaster on May 01, 2011, 10:37:38 PM
got a new tank going in just wondered is it better to stone chip it then paint over that or can i use just metal ready then por -15 straight on it, the bloke at frosts said i wouldnt need stonechip as por-15 is realy hard and doesnt chip although i take hat with a pinch of salt as he is a little biased!
also the tank came painted black wat is the best way to remove this paint prior to me re- painting it i was going to have it blasted but fear that grit will get in there again waht did others do ??

i've used por-15 on my subframe, seems to be holding up well considering how close it is to the road. If you do use por15, make sure you wear gloves as it doesn't come off anything it touches!

Just rubbed it with a scotch brite pad to key the paint
