Title: G40 fuel rail- G40 specific or does a GT one fit?
Post by: ereeiz on April 30, 2011, 11:59:25 AM
Are GT and G40 fuel rails the same? Or do any other models fit the G40?

Reason I ask is my inlet pipe has snapped off (accidentally tapped it with a hammer when "convincing" the 19yr old water pump to come off that was corroded to the block). I tried glueing it but it just fell off when I fitted the fuel hose.

There's a few scrappies round here but mk3 polos are none existent nowadays there, so if one off another model fits then I could go for one of them. Alternatively I also have a couple of 1.4 16v engines lying about, mk2 8v golf lump and a random corsa one too. I had a look and none of them look like they will, with the mk2 Golf one being the closest.

Or if anyone's got one and could drop it at mine (I'll pay of course) It'd be much appreciated, or I may be able to get to you if I can blag a lift/ car off a mate.

Stil interested to know if it's the same rail as a GT though.

fairly sure the GT rail is identical just swap everything off your G40 rail on to that... I do have a few spare GT rails if you get stuck I can post you one out but would obv be a bit of a wait with bank hol steez...
