Title: 16v head conversion - Pictures of G40 head/gasket?
Post by: Phil on April 28, 2011, 08:18:31 PM
Anyone got any picture of the bottom of a G40 head? I cant seem to find any in my stocks of pictures.

Reason being, have found a head here which comes with sodium filled valves and at a glance looks like it stands a chance of going...

Cheers Lance.

The heads from a Gol 16v turbo in Brazil, was hoping it could be fitted to a g40, but turns out, they based the engine on the later undersquare 1.0L engine in the later Polo/Lupo/Seats.

So the valves are tiny at 22.5mm inlet and 20mm exhaust due to the bore being 67.1mm.

But for reference, the afh head does bolt onto a g40 block and doesn't need any water holes welding. Just custom pistons, and valves/cams if you want big power.

Shame though, the Gol engines come with forged pistons as standard which can be picked up for about £200, complete heads are about £500.
