Title: vernier pulley

i bought one off ebay last year when the ppp ones got lost in post.

i went to fit it and does not fit the toothed profile is wrong but the guy insist that its right
i heard about diffrent profiles are the g40 engines diffrent.

does your car have a square-tooth belt then?  Can you post a photo of your old pulley or the belt itself?  I assume the belt you have is the correct profile for your bottom pulley & water pump?

depends on the age of the engine - very early ones had square tooth, most are half round tooth.  whats the engine number?

car had square toothed profile converted to round now !!
will there be any issues converting it to round

pete not sure on engine number but apparantly engine is out of a k reg car my red g40 and uk genesis are both round
belt profile.

no issues, just a bit of a pig sometimes replacing the bottom pulley (its on tight - its also a one use stretch bolt on there too!)

cheers for the info will order new crank and cam bolts monday.

bolt on engine was a bit difficult to get of but done now.

What do you reckon on the quality of these vernier pulleys Chris? They certainly appear to be very good value for money.
Shame they are annodised purple, other than that they look rather good.

It's the same one as I've got. Quality looks ok. Mine had afew light scratches on it when it arrived which the seller offered to replace but as they were only small, I didn't bother. Didn't get a woodruff key either :(

think there realy good quality. purpleness matches the colour of the car
