Title: Inlet manifold gasket re-use
Post by: dub-disaster on January 24, 2011, 09:46:29 AM
Put my inlet on torqued it up, got to remove it and refit it again can I reuse the gasket I only put it on yesterday and never ran the engine with it on, just wondered as it's the metal type with the raised ridge that squashes when torqued up. Do I need a new one ?

I've re-used one on GT management without a problem. Not sure how it would be with boost though.

I re-used one as well and it was fine. There are £5.34 + vat from VW.

+1 for re-using, you should be able to visibly see what condition the gasket is in, 3 quid from gsf and ecp or just about double from veedubya

fine to reuse as long as they're not knackered.  they last ages.
